Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, has been generating significant buzz after the film’s world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Before the theatrical
release, the film held a special screening on Monday night and left the entirety of Bollywood in awe.
After the screening, B-Town celebrities were seen praising the film. Among them was Vicky Kaushal, who took to social media to laud the efforts of the entire Homebound team.
Vicky Kaushal Believes Homebound Is A Must-Watch
Vicky Kaushal shared a poster of Homebound, featuring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, as he penned a short note praising the film. “Calms you, breaks you…makes you go absolutely speechless! Homebound Premiere
A star-studded premiere of Homebound was held in Mumbai on Monday night. Celebrities like Hrithik Roshan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vicky Kaushal, Arjun Kapoor, and Malaika Arora, among others, were seen gracing the event. Homebound’s director Neeraj Ghaywan and co-producer Karan Johar, along with cast members Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, were present at the event. Janhvi Kapoor stole the spotlight at the Homebound premiere as she paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, Sridevi, by wearing her gorgeous saree.
Homebound Cast and Plot
Based on a 2020 New York Times article by Basharat Peer, Homebound revolves around the story of two childhood friends from a small village in India who dream of becoming police officers, hoping the job will bring them the respect they never had. However, when they work towards their goal, they realise that they are losing their friendship amid struggles and career pressure. Alongside Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, the film also stars Reem Shaikh, Harshika Parmar, and Shalini Vatsa, among others, in supporting roles.
Homebound had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has been selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film for the 98th Academy Awards. Homebound is set to release in theatres on September 26, 2025.

Coming back to the actor, Vicky Kaushal was last seen in Chhaava, an epic historical action film based on the life of Sambhaji. Alongside Vicky, the film also featured Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna. Up next, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film is scheduled to release in 2026.
