Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased down the target of 76 runs in just 6.2 overs on Monday, April 27, to secure a big win by 9 wickets over Delhi Capitals. In the IPL 2026 match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, RCB bowled DC out for just 75 runs in 16.3 overs first and then chased the 76-run target for the loss of only one wicket.
The win over Delhi Capitals at Feroz Shah Kotla helped RCB close the gap with IPL 2026 table-toppers Punjab Kings to just one point. RCB have 12 points to their credit from eight matches, and they are 2nd in the IPL 2026 points table. On the other hand, PBKS are at the top with 13 points from seven matches.
Delhi Capitals remain 7th in the points table. They have 6 points from 8 matches, but after a humiliating
defeat in front of home fans, DC’s net run rate has now dropped to -1.060.

Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batter Abhishek Sharma, who is also the world No. 1 T20I batter, is leading the Orange Cap race in IPL 2026. In eight matches for the Orange Army, the left-handed batter from Amritsar has amassed a total of 380 runs.
In the list of batters with most runs in IPL 2026, Abhishek is followed by Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul.
Rahul, who could only manage to score 1 run for Delhi Capitals against RCB on Monday, has 358 runs to his name in IPL 2026. He has scored just one more run than 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who is now third in the Orange Cap race with 357 runs in eight matches for Rajasthan Royals.
Batting superstar Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 23 runs from 15 balls for RCB in the 76-run chase. His tally of 23 runs not only helped him become the first batter in the world to score 9000 runs in the IPL but also extended his tally of runs to 351 in IPL 2026. He is now 4th in the Orange Cap list.

Senior India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 3 wickets for 4 runs in three overs for RCB on Monday, and Josh Hazlewood registered figures of 3.3-12-4. The super show by both of them helped RCB bowl DC out for just 75 runs and secure a memorable win.
The three wickets by Bhuvneshwar at Arun Jaitley Stadium helped him extend his tally of wickets to 14 in this year’s IPL. He is now leading the Purple Cap race in IPL 2026.
CSK’s Anshul Kamboj and SRH’s Eshan Malinga have also picked up 14 wickets each in IPL 2026, but due to a better economy rate than both of them, Bhuvneshwar is the new holder of the Purple Cap.
RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya also picked up 1 wicket for RCB in his quota of two overs on Monday, and with 9 wickets, he is now 10th in the Purple Cap race.
