Christmas is just around the corner. The festival is the time to decorate one’s home and enjoy some great food with friends and family. Many people use the occasion to bring in a real Christmas tree to decorate their
place, while others tend to use whatever is nearby to give their homes a festive feel. One man has decided to use the excuse of Christmas to get out of a task that a lot of people in the world hate- folding their laundry.
A video doing the rounds on Instagram shows a content creator using his pile of clothes as a makeshift Christmas tree. The account was shared by a handle that goes by the name RoadsAndReels. The account, which is run by a Texas-based Indian, shows how to use jugaad to get a Christmas without spending any money.
Man’s Unique Christmas Tree Idea
The clip shows a huge pile of laundry lying on the floor. A man comes in and decides to use it as a Christmas tree. Wrapping some lights around the clothes, he turns the pile into a makeshift tree. A text overlaid on the video read, “When the laundry pile is huge, you have zero mood to fold, and Christmas is around the corner…” The clip was set to the tune of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You.
The video was shared with the caption, “When the laundry pile is so big… you just turn it into a Christmas tree.”
Instagram In Love With Man’s Christmas Tree Jugaad
Many users were left in stitches by the idea. “Creativity at its best,” wrote one account.
Another quipped, “It’s time to decorate mine.”
One individual called the jugaad a way to get a “budget-friendly Christmas tree.”
Of course, there can be no video of Christmas lights without a reference to the Netflix hit show Stranger Things and how Winona Ryder’s character uses the lights to communicate with her missing son. One user wrote, “These lights remind me of Stranger Things.”
“My room has junk everywhere! I should just put Christmas lights all around it lol !!” a comment read.
“Looks more like Halloween to me,” an individual commented.
Another account felt the clip resonated with them. “Thank God there are lot of people who feel the same about folding laundry…at my home my parents keep telling that I don’t have responsibility to fold laundry and leave it for many days on sofas….it’s actually not about laundry…it’s about mental load which we have due to which this laundry task feels low priority,” they wrote.
Every year, several people use Christmas to give advice on budget-friendly ideas for decorating their home or hosting a feast. This clip’s hilarious idea may not be the best way to decorate a home, but it did manage to spread some festive cheer and laughter online.
