Premier League giants Manchester United confirmed the permanent transfer of forward Rasmus Hojlund, who has been on loan at Naples since the start of the latest season, to Serie A heavyweights Napoli on Wednesday.
The Italian side splashed €44m to buy the Dane outright, in addition to the €6m loan fee they have paid the Mancunian club.

“SSC Napoli announces that the conditions have been met for the permanent acquisition of the player Rasmus Winther Højlund from Manchester United Football Club,” the club said in a statement.
“On September 13, our number 19 scored his first
goal, on his debut, in a 3-1 victory over Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi,”
“He made 44 appearances for Napoli, scoring 16 goals. He contributed to the Italian Super Cup victory, scoring in the semifinal victory over AC Milan,” the club added.
Hojlund, who followed Scott McTominay at the Neapolitan club, has gone on to perform exceedingly well in the peninsula since stepping foot on Italian soil.
Italian manager Antonio Conte bid farewell to Serie A giants Napoli, who he led to a fourth Scudetto in the 2024/25 season, bringing the curtains down on a storied association.
Napoli, finished Conte’s final season at the club second behind champions Inter as the side from the south of Italy tallied 76 points in their campaign, eleven points behind Inter.
The conclusion of Conte’s stint at Napoli was marred by star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne’s comments, in which the Belgian playmaker expressed his disappointment with the gaffer’s style of management and play.
