If there’s one thing Indians excel at, it’s “jugaad” (innovation). While the rest of the world might discard old items, Indians find ways to give them a second life. Old clothes become cleaning rags, glass bottles are transformed into flower vases, and the list goes on. While these everyday hacks are familiar to many, one woman recently caught the Internet’s attention for taking jugaad to an entirely new level.
She transformed a piece of men’s underwear into a fully functional sling bag. Yes, you read that right! A video of her has gone viral on social media, highlighting her creative and sustainable innovation. In the clip, the woman is seen buying vegetables at a local market.
What grabbed everyone’s attention, however, was her unconventional
choice of bag. Instead of a regular tote or plastic carry bag, she carried her groceries in a pair of stitched underwear. Even the shopkeeper, without batting an eye, placed the vegetables straight into her quirky creation.
The Woman Carried Around The Underwear Bag Without A Second Thought
As seen in the clip, the woman had sealed the button part of the underwear and stitched a strap on two opposite sides of the waistband, turning it into a functional bag which was easy to carry around. Her unique innovation left the Internet in shock and split at the same time.
The clip featured the caption “Indian women day by day,” accompanied by a graph showing an upward trend.

In no time, the woman’s creativity caught the Internet’s attention. Social media users flooded the comments section with reactions ranging from laughter to admiration. Another person joked, “Meanwhile Dollar: Mere Sath anyay hua hai (Meanwhile Dollar, I have been treated unfairly).”

Someone else hilariously penned, “Bechara husband ghar main apni underwear dhoond raha hoga (Poor husband must be looking for his underwear in the house.)”
Meanwhile, one user took a dig at American’s brand for selling cheaper Indian bags at higher prices, saying, “Iss bag ko me America me bechunga 50 dollar me.”
A section also praised the woman for being a “sustainability” champion and reusing old clothes.
