Jasprit Bumrah is leading the Mumbai Indians’ fast bowling attack in the IPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Titans on Monday, April 20. The 32-year-old fast bowler from Ahmedabad bowled the first over of GT’s innings in the 200-run chase at Narendra Modi Stadium and picked up GT opener Sai Sudharsan’s wicket on the first ball itself. The left-handed batter from Tamil Nadu was caught by Krish Bhagat for a golden duck.
The wicket of Sudharsan on the first ball of GT’s innings helped Bumrah end his long-wait for first wicket in the ongoing 2026 edition of the IPL.
Bumrah played all five matches for MI ahead of the ongoing fixture but was not able to take even one wicket.
After taking his first wicket on his 114th ball of IPL 2026, Bumrah celebrated
in an aggressive manner, and the clip of his reaction is now going viral on the internet.

Bumrah, who is playing his 151st IPL matches for Mumbai Indians on Monday, will have to play a big role for the Hardik Pandya-led side against GT if they want to bring their campaign back on track.
MI have lost four out of five matches played so far in IPL 2026, and a defeat against GT on Monday will push them closer to elimination.
45-ball 100 by Tilak
Tilak Varma played an unbeaten knock of 101 runs from 45 balls for Mumbai Indians in their IPL 2026 match against Gujarat Titans. The left-handed batter from Hyderabad reached the 100-run mark by hitting GT fast bowler Prasidh Krishna for a four on the last ball of MI’s innings at Narendra Modi Stadium.
The 45-ball century by Tilak helps him equal Sanath Jayasuriya’s record of fastest century in the IPL by a Mumbai Indians batter. In the 2008 edition of IPL, former Sri Lanka captain Jayasuriya also scored a century in 45 balls for MI against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The overall record for scoring the fastest 100 in IPL history is held by Chris Gayle. Gayle needed only 30 balls to reach the 100-run mark for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their 2013 IPL match against Pune Warriors India at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 23, 2013.
