Varun Dhawan may soon be taking a major step onto the global stage. According to a report, the actor is currently in advanced discussions for an ambitious Hollywood action film backed by renowned producer Lawrence Kasanoff, best known for the Mortal Kombat franchise. The project is said to revolve around an inter-parallel universe concept.
Pinkvilla has quoted a source saying, “Varun has been offered a Hollywood project, and the discussions have been progressing steadily over the last few weeks. He recently connected with Lawrence Kasanoff, and both sides are currently in advanced talks. While things are still being finalised, the project could mark a significant global step in Varun’s career.”

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona
Hai, starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, remains one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases of the year. The film’s songs have already generated a fair amount of pre-release buzz, while its teaser had also managed to grab attention among fans. However, the film’s trailer launch has now hit a roadblock. The makers had planned to unveil the trailer at an event in Mumbai on Thursday, but the launch was cancelled due to a technical issue. The trailer will not be released online for now either. As a result, the trailer release has been postponed, and the new date is yet to be announced.
Recently, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai also found itself at the centre of conversations around whether the film was copied from another project. Addressing the speculation, Tips Music issued an official statement on Instagram and dismissed the claims.
The statement read, “It has come to our attention that there are discussions in the trade and amongst the public regarding our film, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ (‘Film’). Tips, Ramesh Taurani, David Dhawan Ji, along with the cast and crew, would like to clarify that the Film is an original story and screenplay and bears no resemblance to any other film.”
The statement further added, “We have poured our hearts into making this Film and sincerely look forward to welcoming audiences to cinemas on June 5 for a fun-filled family experience. SEE YOU AT THE MOVIES.”
The clarification came two days after Tips Music Limited responded to what it called “malicious and misconceived” claims made by filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani’s banner Pooja Entertainment. The two banners are currently involved in a legal dispute over music and intellectual property rights.
