India registered a terrific 9-wicket win against South Africa on Saturday, clinching the 3-match ODI series 1-0. After the bowlers – Kuldeep Yadav and Arshdeep Singh – had their shares of success, Yashasvi Jaiswal enjoyed a memorable outing in Vizag. Chasing 271, the left-hand opener notched up his maiden ODI hundred and was adjudged the Player of the Match for his scintillating knock. Jaiswal, thus, became only the sixth Indian batter to score a ton across all three formats.
Jaiswal produced a stunning maiden unbeaten ODI century to guide India to a commanding nine-wicket win in the third and final ODI, sealing the series 2-1 against South Africa on Saturday. The moment came in the 36th over when Jaiswal took a single off Corbin Bosch’s bowling.
As he reached the milestone, he jumped in the air in jubilation, took off his helmet and roared before hugging Kohli.
Look at what it means to him! 🥳

Jaiswal carried his bat and guided India to a dominating victory. His maiden ODI hundred took him to the elite list of batters who have scored hundreds in all three formats.

Earlier, Jaiswal (116* off 121 balls) and Rohit Sharma (75 off 73) put together a superb 155-run opening stand in just 25.5 overs, effectively ending South Africa’s hopes. The duo’s control and shot-making made the chase a formality, and India cruised to 271/1 in 39.5 overs, completing a clinical series-clinching performance.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli scored a stylish unbeaten 65 off 45 balls while Rohit, who crossed 20,000 international runs during his knock, made a fluent 75 and dominated the scoring early on, even striking three trademark swivel-pull sixes. He joined forces with Jaiswal to forge a 155-run opening stand to set the tone before Rohit fell to Keshav Maharaj.
Jaiswal then accelerated confidently, reaching his hundred in 111 balls and celebrating with raw emotion. He and Kohli added 156 runs for the second wicket as India cruised home with ease.
Earlier, South Africa posted 270, built around Quinton de Kock’s superb 106 — his 23rd ODI century — and partnerships with Temba Bavuma and Matthew Breetzke. But India’s bowlers, led by Prasidh Krishna and Kuldeep Yadav, ensured the visitors never fully capitalised.
