A few weeks ago, Splitsvilla 15 contestant Shubhi Joshi hit the headlines after a clip from her podcast went viral. In the conversation with Filmygyan, she hinted at her past with Bigg Boss 19 contestant Awez Darbar without directly taking his name, and accused him of two-timing her. Now, Shubhi Joshi has issued a statement, revealing that she has been subjected to trolling, abuse, death threats and character assassination for telling her story that has taken a massive toll on her mental health. Amid speculation linking her to Awez as well as Baseer Ali, she also clarified that she is ‘not the common ex’ mentioned in one of the Bigg Boss 19 episodes. This comes after an episode where Baseer mentioned a ‘third person’, claiming that he and Awez shared
a ‘common ex,’ leading many online to assume Shubhi was the person in question.
Shubhi Joshi Reveals Getting Threats After Viral Podcast
In her statement, Shubhi wrote, “My truth on speaking up : These past few days have been the hardest of my life. I’ve been trolled, abused, threatened and judged for speaking up my own story. When I was asked in a podcast, I chose honesty. I chose to speak from a place of truth, not to defame anyone. We all are wrong in someone’s story and that’s okay. I firmly STAND by everything I spoke. Yes, I was naive of the consequences it unfortunately led to, but I don’t need a man’s name to ride on for short-lived footage. God’s been kind, and I’m building my career on my own merit.”

Shubhi Joshi Explains Her Side Of The Story
She further explained her side of the story, stating that she was seeing someone for over months, and he made her believe she was special. “I didn’t initiate, in-fact I was approached, showed that it was meaningful , and I slowly let my walls down, from a pure place in my heart. All I ever wanted was honesty, and when I didn’t get it, I was taken aback. Sometimes people speak not to blame, but to finally breathe,” she wrote. She added that while people saw the viral podcast clip, they didn’t see the aftermath that followed.
“The hate I’ve received has been vicious: abuses, slut-shaming, character assassination, even death threats for me and my family. No one should be bullied or dehumanised for speaking their truth. This level of trolling crushes mental health. I’m a human after all, with feelings, family, and limits. Waking up to hate messages, sleepless nights full of anxiety, it breaks you, makes you question your will to keep going specially for Girls like Me, who’ve fought every barrier to choose and chase a dream, have no safety net, only hard work and hope. But what breaks you, only makes you stronger,” she wrote.
Shubhi Joshi Clarifies She Is Not The ‘Common Ex’ In Bigg Boss Row Involving Awez And Baseer
She further added, “To those who misunderstood me: I hope one day you’ll see my heart. Let me clear the air, Baseer Ali is and has always been a deeply respected and cherished friend. Nothing more, nothing less. I am NOT the common ex mentioned in one of the episodes. I was labelled as everyone’s ex purely on assumptions, a claim I never even made. Being judged like that cuts deeper than words can show.”
Finally, she slammed those who think she spoke up so she could appear on Bigg Boss 19. “For people thinking I did it to grab an opportunity, the opportunity was shut down by ME rather than exaggerating the matter. I will always choose my own identity over being labelled as ‘someone’s ex’. I am totally apologetic if that has hurt families, with due respect, that was never my intention. But I can’t let myself be painted wrong forever to protect someone else’s present,” she wrote.
