Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan visited Murshidabad in West Bengal last week to meet singer Arijit Singh. His visit came just days after the singer announced his retirement from playback singing, leading fans to speculate whether the actor visited him to convince him not to quit. Turns out, that wasn’t the real reason behind his meeting with Arijit. In a recent conversation, Aamir revealed that he was there for the rendering of ‘Ek Din’ songs. For the unversed, the film ‘Ek Din’, produced by Aamir Khan, stars his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi. Aamir revealed that he convinced Arijit to sing 5 songs for Junaid’s character in the film.
Aamir Khan Convinced Arijit Singh to Sing 5 Songs for Son Junaid’s Film
In a conversation with journalist Subhash K Jha, Aamir Khan revealed what transpired during his visit to Murshidabad
to meet Arijit Singh. He said that he wasn’t there to convince Arijit to not quit singing for films, even though he did try his best to persuade him to reconsider. “I was in Murshidabad a few days ago. I wasn’t there to convince Arijit not to quit singing for films. I was there for another purpose. Though I did try my best to persuade him to reconsider, it was in vain. He seems to have made up his mind,” said Aamir.
Revealing the real reason behind his visit, Aamir said, “I was there for his rendering of the Ek Din songs. I convinced him to sing for my sake. He is singing for Junaid’s character. Since Ek Din was an earlier commitment, he wanted to complete it. The film has five songs, and he sings all of them.”
Aamir Khan Praises Arijit Singh
Aamir was all praise for Arijit. Praising his talent, the superstar called him a ‘lovely person’, revealing that he had a memorable time with him, his family and his team. “He has absolutely nailed the songs. Such a talent! And it’s so sad for films — and for all of us who are his fans,” said Aamir.
Meanwhile, yesterday, Aamir Khan also shared a picture with Arijit, along with a note that read, “Thank you, Arijit, for lending your voice to our film ‘Ek Din’. The 4 days spent with you, your family and your team felt magical. Love, a.”
