A public fight between two big business leaders has taken over social media. Elon Musk and Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary have exchanged sharp words over Starlink, Musk’s satellite internet service. The clash began after O’Leary said Ryanair has no plans to add Starlink WiFi on its flights. He explained that most passengers fly for short trips and are not ready to pay extra for internet use. He also said adding Wifi will add extra cost every year, which does not fit a low-cost model.
O’Leary went a step further and openly mocked Musk, saying people should ignore him and even calling him an idiot. This did not sit well with the tech billionaire. Musk quickly fired back by calling O’Leary names, while demanding his removal from his job and asking
followers if he should buy the airline company.
Tensions rose further after a widespread outage on X, formerly Twitter, left users in the US unable to load feeds or post content. Downdetector recorded a sharp spike in complaints, and the disruption was reported by multiple outlets, including the New York Post. Ryanair’s social media team, known for its sharp humour, seized the moment to mock Musk, posting: “Perhaps you need Wi-Fi, @elonmusk?”
