Parbhani, Sept 11 (PTI) Police have detained a man for allegedly possessing charas and MD in Maharashtra’s Parbhani district, and registered a case against two others, officials said on Friday.
They were held in the Marathwada High School area on Khandoba Bazaar Road on Thursday, they said.
The seized drugs and other articles are collectively valued at Rs 1.07 lakh, the police said.
According to the complaint lodged by a police personnel, a man was carrying and selling narcotic substances in the school area. Acting on the information, police laid a trap and detained Mohammed Anwar Mohammed Yasin, a resident of Parbhani.
More than seven grams of MD powder, charas, an electronic weighing scale, a two-wheeler and a mobile phone was seized from his
possession.
During questioning, Anwar told police that he used the substances for intoxication and had obtained them for sale from Shaikh Shoeb Shaikh Gaus and Shaikh Gaus from Parbhani.
Based on the complaint, Nanalpeth police registered a case against all three accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. PTI COR NP
