One of the biggest revelations came from music composer Amaal Mallik, who accused his uncle, Anu Malik, of sabotaging his father Daboo Malik’s career. In one of the episodes, Amaal even claimed that his uncle abandoned him during the Mumbai floods in 2005.

While Anu Malik has earlier dismissed the allegations of rift in their family, he has now reacted to Amaal’s claims of sabotage and betrayal. Here’s what the musician said.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Anu Malik reacted to nephew Amaal’s allegations

by saying, “A lie told 1,000 times will never become the truth. One can’t waste energy reacting to everything.”

The veteran composer also recalled the advice his father, Sardar Malik, once gave him. He shared, “My father (composer Sardar Malik) always told me, never allow poison to churn in your mind. If you do, you’ll never be a good composer. People may hurt you, but they can’t take away your talent, that’s yours. I sit at my piano, make a new tune, and that’s my answer to the world.”

Anu Malik Priorities Work Over Controversies

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding his family, the musician has chosen to stay focused on his work. He is currently composing songs for an upcoming romantic film. Talking about the project, he said, “It is a very beautiful, tender story about a girl who has to choose between love and fame. The director told me, ‘I want songs that will stand the test of time.’ That’s how it all began.”

Anu Malik: ‘My Talent Was Underestimated’

While concluding the chat, Anu Malik admitted that he feels his talent has often been underestimated in the industry. “I feel like I’ve been underused and underutilised. There’s still so much more I can give,” he said before signing off.

Daboo Malik On Amaal Mallik’s Claims About Anu Malik

Returning to Amaal Mallik’s allegations against Anu Malik, Daboo Malik earlier reacted to his son’s statements in an interview to Money Control and called them “unnecessary.”

He shared, “Amaal has addressed that thing from a very personal point of view; that was not needed. What happens is that over the years when you are struggling, your dinner conversations get embedded in the minds of the children. You don’t even realise that. And when they pop up in their head later, 20 years later, they have already construed that this happened with daddy. And woh zaroori nahi hai ki bola jaye (not necessary that it needs to be spoken out). Anu Malik has worked so hard in his life.”

Daboo Malik emphasised that in today’s competitive world, no one will hold your hand or help you become a superstar.
