Palghar (Maharashtra), Sep 17 (PTI) Traffic was disrupted on Charoti Bridge in Dahanu tehsil of the district on Thursday afternoon after a chemical tanker overturned while on its way to Taloja from Gujarat, officials said here.
Palghar Disaster Management Cell Vivekanand Kadam said the tanker, which was carrying resin, a non-flammable chemical used in paint manufacturing, was safely removed and the site was being washed.
The incident occurred at around 2:30 pm, he said.
Emergency response teams, including three heavy-duty cranes, were immediately deployed to right the overturned vehicle, and local authorities are washing down the bridge surface using water and soil before reopening the stretch to traffic, Kadam said.
Traffic under the bridge was
not disrupted.
The driver of the tanker sustained minor injuries in the accident and was admitted to hospital, the official said. PTI COR KRK
