Abhishek Bajaj has opened up about the allegations that he age-shamed Kunickaa Sadanand during his Bigg Boss 19 stint. In a recent interview, ‘Humara Bajaj’ talked about her repeated clashes with Kunickaa on Salman Khan’s show and claimed that she often used to cross lines. The actor argued that even though he was respectful towards Sadanand, the latter played the age card.
“She shouldn’t have said the things she did about my mother. She often crossed lines, played the age card, woman card. I come from a family where we were taught to respect elders, and I was trying to be respectful. We were all contestants. I also interacted with her that way,” Abhishek told SCREEN.
“I never age-shamed her. I don’t think calling her a grandmother was an insult.
Kunickaa couldn’t handle criticism; she was very disrespectful. A lot of the things she said about me and Ashnoor were unnecessary. I feel Kunickaa is playing the dirtiest game; it is very evident. Farrhana is blunt and out there. She will fight on your face, but won’t say anything behind your back,” the actor added.
For the unversed, in one of the previous Bigg Boss 19 episodes, Abhishek was seen singing the iconic song, ‘Dadi Amma Dadi Amma Maan Jao’ while taking a dig at Kunickaa Sadanand. The behaviour did not go down well with the viewers, who felt Abhishek’s comments were disrespectful and below the belt.
Later, during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, Salman Khan also confronted Abhishek Bajaj for allegedly age-shaming Kunickaa Sadanand. “You’re getting upset about Ashnoor being called names, but weren’t you the one calling Kunickaa ‘dadi amma’?” Salman asked Abhishek and then added, “Are you calling me old? I’m the same age as Kunickaa. There are other ways to show appreciation if that’s how you define it. He reminded him that regardless of age, respect should always be shown.
