Bigg Boss 20 premiered on Sunday, but the competition had begun even before its contestants entered the house. Rhiya Ahir, who came into the spotlight following the CJP protests, and Punjabi actress Love Gill were put up for a public vote, with viewers deciding which of the two would secure a place on the reality show.
Love Gill eventually received more votes and entered the Bigg Boss 20 house, while Rhiya missed out. Soon after the result, however, Rhiya found herself facing trolling and abusive comments online. She has now responded to some of those messages through a video on Instagram.
Rhiya Ahir Responds To Trolls After Bigg Boss 20 Vote
Rhiya had initially posted a video thanking those who supported her during the voting process. She later
returned with another clip to address the comments she had received after losing the contest.
“Last night, I had shared a video thanking you all for the love and support. Now, let me show you the other side of that coin,” she said.
In the video, Rhiya displayed several comments directed at her, including posts mentioning “Rs 140”.
She also highlighted one comment that read, “Hijada Riya (sic).” Instead of treating the word as an insult, Rhiya defended the transgender community and questioned those using the term to abuse her.
“Inhe lagta hai ke kisiko Hijra bulakar bahot maahaan kaam kar rahe hai. Hijra hamare desh ki bahot strong community hai. So, I don’t think it is a gaali you think it is,” she said.
Rhiya concluded her response by pointing out that while people continued discussing her online, she remained occupied with her own work and life.
Rhiya Had Earlier Thanked Her Supporters
Before addressing the trolling, Rhiya had shared a separate video on Sunday thanking fans and followers who voted for and supported her during the Bigg Boss 20 selection process.
While she did not secure enough votes to enter the house, Love Gill won the face-off and became one of the contestants this season.

Bigg Boss 20 began its run on Sunday, with Love entering the house after winning the pre-premiere public vote against Rhiya.
