Ramayana Release Date: Previously, Yash had confirmed that Part 1 of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana duology will be released in October 2026. Now, John Fithian, the Founding Partner at The Fithian Group LLC, has teased the release date of the English version of the film. John’s firm collaborated with Namit Malhotra and Yash to present Ramayana to global distributors at CinemaCon 2026 in Los Angeles.
A few days ago, John penned a lengthy note on LinkedIn about how “the most important theatrical exhibition companies from the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and Australia scheduled and attended private meetings in the Ramayana demonstration ballroom and theatre”. Have a look at the post here:
He wrote that in those meetings, “Namit showed
them never-before-seen clips of the movie, with never-before-used technologies and special effects, and learned from those leading western cinema operators how best to market, distribute and exhibit the movie in their territories”. The post quickly caught everyone’s attention, and fans and distributors even asked John about the film’s release date.
A comment read, “When is it releasing John and how will independents in Australia get access to it?” John replied, “TBD. Meetings on international distribution and marketing to be held this week. But it will likely be widely available in Australia. Likely release of the English version on November 8.” This date coincides with the Diwali 2026 release window that the makers had in mind.
Previously, at CinemaCon 2026, Yash told Michael Sandoval, “Ramayana, we are planning this year. This year, Diwali, which is in October last week.” While Yash did not reveal the exact release date, an end-of-October release window can be extremely profitable for Ramayana. At the same event, Yash also spoke about how Ramayana will be an immersive experience for the audience.
Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is gearing up to be one of the most anticipated film releases this year. Ramayana: Part 1 brings together a wide ensemble, including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. The first part of Ramayana is set to release in theatres globally during Diwali 2026, with the second part scheduled for Diwali 2027.
