The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made a significant change to the interview schedule. The interviews, initially planned for January 22, 2026, will now take place in February due to the ‘full dress rehearsal’ for the Republic Day parade in Delhi, which caused government offices to close early.
Candidates scheduled for interviews on the afternoon of January 22 will need to appear on the new date. This change allows candidates preparing for the UPSC Interview 2025 additional time for final revision. Those whose interview dates have been altered should check their travel arrangements if coming from outside Delhi. The interviews will be held at Dholpur House in Delhi. The complete calendar for UPSC interviews and other examinations can be found
on the official website, upsc.gov.in.
The revised schedule affects only those whose interviews were set for the afternoon of January 22, 2026. These interviews will now be held in the morning session on February 27, 2026. All other dates and sessions remain the same. Candidates must report to the UPSC office at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi, at 9 AM for the February 27 morning session. For the afternoon session, the reporting time is 1 PM. Those originally scheduled for the January 22 afternoon shift should adjust their travel plans accordingly.
The notification for the 2026 examinations (CSE and IFS) too has been postponed. Originally set for January 14, 2026, the release will occur once administrative formalities are completed. However, the UPSC Preliminary Examination date, May 24, 2026, is expected to remain unchanged.
Candidates with revised interview dates must download a new “e-summon letter” from the portal. The Commission will refund second-class (sleeper class) train fares for interview candidates, as per established regulations. Candidates must submit the travel allowance form along with the original tickets.
On the interview day, candidates must bring the following documents:
– E-Summon Letter
– Original educational certificates and graduation degree
– Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
– Photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, etc.)
– Two passport size photographs
Candidates are advised to avoid relying on unofficial information and to check the Commission’s website regularly.
