A charity, co-founded by the Duke of Sussex, has filed defamation suit against him for defamation.
The charity was established in 2006 to assist youth with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana. Prince Harry resigned as a patron in March 2025 after a public falling-out with Sophie Chandauka, the chairman of the charity’s board.
The Telegraph quoted the High Court records that was made public on Friday, Sentebale lodged a defamation claim last month at the High Court against Prince Harry and one of his close friends Mark Dyer, who was also a trustee of the charity.
Though details of the claim has not been disclosed, Chandauka had previously accused the charity’s board of harassment and misogyny, triggering the resignation of the Prince as patron
and several trustees.
According to The Telegraph, the Charity Commission investigated the allegations and found no evidence of widespread bullying, harassment or misogyny, but concluded that all parties were to blame for starting a public row that harmed Sentebale’s reputation.
