Janhvi Kapoor is set to appear on filmmaker Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan 9 alongside her Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari co-star, Varun Dhawan. In the upcoming episode, the actress reportedly spoke about the support she received from her rumoured boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya, following the death of her mother, veteran actor Sridevi, in February 2018.

Janhvi Kapoor and Shikhar Pahariya have been linked romantically for years, but the two have largely kept their relationship private. Their appearances together at family functions, festive celebrations and public events have often sparked speculation about their equation. According to Indian Express, Janhvi recalled during the episode
that Shikhar, who was studying in London at the time, took time away from his studies and returned to be near her during the difficult period. Although the two were not officially dating then, he wanted to be around in case she needed him. When Karan Johar asked Janhvi if she always knew Shikhar was her “endgame”, the actress reflected on how he stood by her during one of the most difficult phases of her life.
She said, “I think he was studying in London, he took like half a semester off. He came to Bombay and he used to stay in town with his dad then, and he moved to his, which I only found out much later, he moved to his friend’s house in Juhu for like a month. Not that I was seeing him every day or anything like that, but later on I just found out that he was like, no, in case she needs me, I just want to be around.”
Veteran actress Sridevi passed away on February 24, 2018, at the age of 54 in Dubai, where she had attended a family wedding. Authorities later confirmed that her death was caused by accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub. Her mortal remains were brought to Mumbai on February 27, and her funeral was held the following day, with film industry members and thousands of fans gathering to pay their final respects.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode of KWK 9 will also feature a special appearance by Janhvi’s brother Arjun Kapoor, who joins the duo for a segment on the show. The episode is scheduled to stream on JioHotstar on Wednesday, October 28, at 7 PM.
