In a tragic accident, two students were killed and around 15 were injured after a school bus carrying over 50 students fell into a deep gorge in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra on Saturday morning.
According to initial reports, the bus lost control and plunged nearly 100 to 150 feet into the valley in the Devgoi Ghat area on the Akkalkuwa–Molgi road.
The bus was travelling from Molgi village towards Akkalkuwa when the accident occurred near the Amlibari area.
The vehicle was completely mangled after the fall.Local police and district administration officials rushed to the spot and have launched rescue and relief operations.
The injured students have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Police, local authorities, and fire department teams
are carrying out rescue and relief work at the accident site. The steep slopes and narrow roads are making it difficult for teams to reach the wreckage.
