15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who represented Rajasthan Royals, won the Orange Cap in IPL 2026. The left-handed batter from Samastipur, who made his IPL debut in 2025, played all 16 matches for RR in the 19th edition of the world’s richest franchise cricket league and amassed a total of 776 runs in 16 innings.

He batted with a strike rate of 237.03 throughout the season and scored one century and five half-centuries (including three scores in the 90s). In the 2026 edition of the IPL, Vaibhav hammered 63 fours and a record-breaking total of 72 sixes for the Rajasthan-based franchise.
Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill finished second in the Orange Cap list. He played 16 matches for GT
and scored 732 runs at a strike rate of 163.20. Gill, who scored a century for GT in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2026, could only manage 10 runs off 8 balls in the final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
Gill’s opening partner, B Sai Sudharsan, finished third on the list of batters with the most runs in IPL 2026. He played 17 matches and scored 722 runs. Sudharsan, who won the Orange Cap in IPL 2025 for scoring 759 runs in 15 matches, slammed one century and eight half-centuries this season.

Vaibhav is only the second Rajasthan Royals player in IPL history to win the Orange Cap. Before him, Jos Buttler finished as the highest run-scorer in the 2022 edition of the IPL while playing for Rajasthan Royals. The former England white-ball captain amassed a total of 863 runs in 17 matches that season.
