Japan is often praised for its high-tech and comfortable public transport. But a recent video from Pakistan shows a bus service taking innovation even further. Normally, luggage on long-distance buses
is stored in compartments outside the passenger area. However, one Pakistani bus company has transformed these storage spaces into luxurious seating areas. By paying a little more than the regular ticket price, passengers can book the VIP seats, which have comfortable beds, blankets, curtains and even personal TVs.
In the video going viral online, passengers on this bus don’t have to climb the usual stairs to find their seats. Instead, they access the VIP seating area in the cargo section through car-like doors. The upgraded space has comfortable seats for two people on each side. The only downside is that passengers cannot move around while the bus is in motion and must remain seated until the bus stops.
Pakistan Bus Service Offers Unique VIP Seating
The video posted on Instagram came with the caption, “The compact spaces are designed for passengers who want privacy and a more relaxed ride, transforming what was once storage into a cosy travel experience. While they may not match the size of a first-class cabin, they offer a surprisingly comfortable alternative for budget-conscious travellers.”

Internet Shared Mixed Reactions
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “I’m so confused, is this upper class or lower class?”
Another shared, “They paid luxury prices to sit in the cargo area.”
“According to physics, they should fill up the lower deck more than the upper deck for stability,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “What an interesting way to die.”
Another asked, “So for a higher price, you sit below someone else and are at a much higher risk in case of a crash?”
One more added, “People hating for no reason, but if Japan does the same thing, we all know what they will say.”
Although it’s similar to flying first class at 35,000 feet, this bus shows how much long-distance travel in Pakistan has improved.
