The 22-year-old Gurugram man, Himanshu Jangra, whose remark during Pranit More’s stand-up show triggered widespread backlash on social media, leading to an FIR against him and even costing him his job, is once again in the spotlight. A new video of Jangra has gone viral in which he is seen sitting outside a police station with what appears to be his friends, laughing about the situation.
In the viral video, one of Himanshu’s friends is heard saying, “Aur 370 biryani wali, bhai…”, after which the camera pans to Himanshu, who is seen laughing while sitting outside the police station. The clip has invited fresh backlash, with one user writing, “People were feeling so bad when he was showing his sad/emotional side, how badly everything affected him
and his job and his family… seems like he is really happy now.” Another commented, “After all, I felt a little bad that he got fired and had to deal with all the mental strain from online memes. But seeing him learn no lesson from it and have no shame, he deserved what he got.” A third user wrote, “Khush to itna hai jaise award milega ab.” Another commented, “Aur launde isko defend kar rahe the ke bechare ki zindagi barbaad ho gayi. Jiski zindagi barbaad hoti hai na usko hansi nahi aati.”
What did Himanshu say during Pranit’s show?
During the interaction,Jangra spoke about taking a woman out on a date and spending around Rs 370 on biryani. However, what sparked outrage was his suggestion that because he had paid for the meal, he expected intimacy in return. Many viewers who later watched the clip accused Jangra of treating dating like a transaction and reducing a woman to something that could be “earned” in exchange for money spent on a meal.
Himanshu’s apology
After weeks of intense online criticism, Himanshu Jangra, in a video shared by Starvik Design, acknowledged that he had used inappropriate language and apologised for it. He maintained that he never intended to promote harmful ideas and said the atmosphere of the event encouraged participants to treat such stories as entertainment. According to him, the reactions from the audience and the host made him feel more confident at the time, something he now regrets.
“Host ke confidence ko dekhte hue mujhe aur badhaava mila, aur mera tha bhi first time. Mujhe pata nahi tha kis level tak bolna hota hai. Ab dekhta hoon toh mujhe regret feel hota hai,” he clarified.
Addressing criticism that he initially tried to capitalise on the attention, Jangra admitted that he viewed the situation as an opportunity in the beginning and believes that was a mistake. He said he should have immediately accepted responsibility rather than waiting for the backlash to intensify.
