The ongoing ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo has been halted for 15 minutes due to pest control spray. In the ongoing tournament, matches
have seen brief pauses due to rain interruptions, but it is the first time that a fixture has been stopped due to pest control spray.
According to Cricbuzz, no overs will be lost, and the loss of time will be made up with a shorter innings break.

At the time of the pause, India were cruising at 154/4 in 34 overs. Mumbai batter Jemimah Rodrigues was unbeaten on 28 runs from 33 balls, and all-rounder Deepti Sharma was batting on 2.
Smriti fails again
Indian team management and fans had high hopes from world No. 1 ODI batter Smriti Mandhana in the ongoing match against Pakistan, but the 29-year-old left-handed batter could only manage to score 23 runs from 32 balls. During her stay at the crease, Mandhana scored 4 fours and added 48 runs in nine overs for the first wicket with Pratika Rawal, who made 31 runs from 37 balls.
Mandhana was trapped in front of the wickets by Pakistan captain Fatima Sana. Smriti challenged the on-field umpire’s decision by opting for DRS, but she was found in front of the stumps, and the impact was also in line, so as a result, she had to return back to the dugout.
No handshake at toss
The Indian men’s team avoided handshakes with Pakistani players during the three matches played in the Asia Cup 2025 last month, and like the men’s team, Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur also avoided a handshake with her Pakistani counterpart, Fatima Sana, at the toss on Sunday.
No Amanjot for India today
All-rounder Amanjot Kaur top-scored for India in the last ODI World Cup match played against Sri Lanka in Guwahati on September 30, but she is not playing against Pakistan. According to India captain Harman, Amanjot was not available for selection due to illness. She has been replaced in the playing XI for the high-voltage match by fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur.
