Hema Malini reached Delhi to attend the Padma Awards 2026 to receive Dharmendra’s posthumous Padma Vibhushan for his contribution to cinema. Hema Malini looked visibly emotional as she went on stage to receive the honour from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, on behalf of her husband.

As Hema Malini’s name was announced to come on stage and receive the award on behalf of her late husband and the “He-Man of Bollywood,” she was seen greeting everyone with folded hands. Speaking to Hindustan Times ahead of the ceremony, Hema Malini spoke about what the honour means to the family after Dharmendra’s passing. She said, “It’s an emotional moment for me. Ahana is with me, Esha wanted to come but could not make it here. The entire family is happy. Sunny, Bobby, everyone is aware of this and it’s a big moment for all of us.”
