Shimla, May 4 (PTI) Wet weather prevailed in Himachal Pradesh, with light to moderate rainfall reported in several areas of the state. Thunderstorms and lightning lashed the state capital, Shimla, as well as Jubberhatti and Sundernagar.
The Meteorological Department has forecasted wet conditions to persist in the state until May 10, with the exception of May 9.
A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from May 10, it said.
It also issued a yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) at isolated places for ten out of 12 districts except Tribal Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts on Tuesday, and five districts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla on Wednesday.
Moderate
rains lashed several parts of the state in the past 24 hours since Sunday evening.
Dadahu in Sirmaur district received 46 mm of rain, followed by Renukaji and Sangrah with 30 mm each, Baldwara 27 mm, Mandi 26.6 mm, Sarahan 25.7 mm, Jatton Barrage 24 mm, Chopal 22 mm, Ghaghas 20.4 mm, Shimla 18 mm and Jubberhatti 16.9 mm.
Light rain was witnessed in Poanta Sahib (15.2 mm), Pachhad, Kasauli and Solan (15 mm each), Sundernagar (14.4 mm), Una and Dhaulakuan (14 mm each), Bilaspur and Kangra (8 mm each), and Kalpa and Palampur (6 mm each).
Tabo was the coldest location at night, recording a low of 3.5 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day, reaching a high of 31 degrees Celsius. PTI BPL MPL MPL
