Love And War: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Recreates Italy In Mumbai Studio, Cancels International Schedule

yet, fans are eagerly awaiting any updates. As per a report in Mid Day, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recent shot portions of the film at a studio near Royal Palms in Goregaon, Mumbai. While the filmmaker had initially planned a 45-day Italy schedule for the film, he reportedly called off the plan, and instead, recreated Italy of the 1970s in a Mumbai studio instead.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali began the latest schedule of Love And War in early October, reports Mid Day. A beautiful set of an Italian club was erected for the scenes, which were initially planned to be shot in Italy. A source told the news portal, “The Italy schedule was turning out to be logistically complex and would have taken a lot more time to execute. Bhansali wanted to maintain the opulence, while having firm control over the setting. So, he decided to recreate the portions on a set in Mumbai. He conducted a 10-day stint with his lead actors before Diwali.”

Meanwhile, the team of Love and War is currently on a break. The director and the lead actors will commence shooting once again by the end of October for the final 20-day schedule of the film. An insider told Mid Day that the lead actors will shoot portions of the film’s climax during this leg. A few days ago, Alia Bhatt’s look from the film was leaked on social media. “After Alia’s pictures from the set leaked a few days ago, the director made it clear that he doesn’t want any of his actors’ looks or details to make their way online. So, the production team will share details of the venue with the unit only closer to the shoot,” said the source. The report further states that the filmmaker is planning to wrap the film by mid-December.

In August, a fan-shot clip from Love And War sets went viral. It showed a thrilling glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal filming an adrenaline-pumping chase sequence. Shot in a desert-like setting, the sequence reportedly featured Kapoor driving an SUV while Kaushal appeared on an open jeep surrounded by men.

Love and War is slated for a worldwide release in March 2026.
