A Bengaluru resident shared a post on Facebook about how she lost her phone, prompting a quick response from the police. Taking to Instagram, the woman under the username Bebina Srichandan shared a now
viral post, revealing how she lost her phone during a visit to Fun Zone at Phoenix Marketcity.
The incident took place at nearly 9:40 PM on Saturday, right before the mall was about to close.
The woman left her phone on the side after finishing a car game and walked towards the claw machines only to realise that she did not have her phone with her.
“Within just a couple of minutes, I realized I had left my phone behind. I rushed back—but it was gone in such a short span. I tried calling my number multiple times—sometimes it rang long, sometimes it was busy. That’s when I knew someone had it,” she said.
As the Fun Zone security team checked the CCTV, her friend quickly dialed 100. To his surprise, the response was almost immediate. Within minutes, officers from Mahadevapura Police Station, Whitefield contacted her, collected details, and assured swift action.
In less than 10 minutes, the police traced the phone to a lady nearby, who was accompanied by a child. She later claimed the child had picked up the phone and was “playing with it.”
“Honestly, I never imagined a lost phone case being solved with such speed, efficiency, and professionalism,” she wrote.
For someone not originally from Karnataka, the experience broke stereotypes about language barriers or bias. Instead, it turned into a moment of reassurance about the kindness, efficiency, and dedication of the city’s police force, said the woman.
“This experience has left me with immense respect for the Bengaluru city Police,Mahadevpura police station, Whitefield. A heartfelt THANK YOU for your swift action & dedication. You turned a stressful night into an unforgettable reminder of the good work you do every day,” she concluded.
