Muzaffarnagar (UP), Sep 9 (PTI) Five people, including a three-year-old girl, were killed after a speeding Roadways bus hit two motorcycles in Budhana area here on Wednesday evening, police said.
The accident occurred on Budhana Road near Bhasana village under Budhana police station when the two motorcycles, carrying the victims, were travelling from Muzaffarnagar, SHO Subhash Atri said.
The deceased were identified as Idrees (60) and Sajid (24), who were travelling on one motorcycle, and Farman (26), Momin (25) and three-year-old Allo, who were on the other, he said.
The injured were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared all five dead, the SHO said.
The bus driver fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle, which was seized by police, Atri
said.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident and efforts are underway to trace the driver. PTI COR CDN MDO MDO
