Smriti Mandhana opened the innings for India in their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match against Hong Kong China on Thursday (September 3) and played a superb knock of 124 runs. She faced 64 balls during her stay at the crease after Hong Kong China captain opted to field first at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, and smashed 14 fours and seven sixes.
Mandhana’s century in India’s second Group A match helped her break multiple batting records.
The left-handed batter from Maharashtra became the first Indian to score multiple centuries in women’s T20Is. She had scored her maiden WT20I century on June 28, 2025, against England in Nottingham. In that match, she played a brilliant knock of 112 runs off 62 balls.
The only other Indian to score a century in
women’s T20Is is Harmanpreet Kaur. Harmanpreet scored 103 runs off 51 balls against New Zealand in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2018 on November 9, 2018, in Providence.
Mandhana’s 124 against Hong Kong China also helped her break her own record for the highest individual score by an Indian batter in women’s T20Is.

Athapaththu had played an unbeaten knock of 119 runs against Malaysia in Dambulla on July 22, 2024.
