Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most talented and versatile actors in Indian cinema, and the audience has been awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Main Actor Nahin Hoon. Siddiqui’s upcoming film is being directed by Aditya Kripalani, and following its international run, the movie is set to release in theatres on May 8, 2026.
Ahead of the movie’s release, the director of the film, Kripalani, has called working with Nawazuddin Siddiqui a dream come true. “He was an absolute professional. He even bought his own ticket to reach Frankfurt, all by himself. He didn’t come with his manager,” Aditya shared in an interview with Filmfare and continued, “Him not charging a fee is a big thing, really big. In India, there is always that pressure of ‘how
much are you earning?’ When someone like Nawaz doesn’t charge money, you can actually turn around and say, ‘This is my earning.’ It’s one of the high points of my career.”

Main Actor Nahi Hoon follows a captivating tale of dreams and aspirations through the story of a retired banker, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who yearns to tread the boards as an actor. Nawazuddin Siddiqui on the work front
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has officially joined the cast of Sohum Shah’s folk horror sequel Tumbbad 2. Speaking about joining the film, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, “Tumbbad has always been a film I admired for its originality and atmospheric storytelling. When Sohum shared the vision for the sequel, I liked the story, and I joined them in their journey. Collaborating with Sohum Shah and Pen Studios on a project of this scale is truly exciting. The character I’ll be portraying has many layers, and I’m looking forward to exploring this immersive universe with such a passionate team.”
The actor also has Thamma 2, a Maddock horror comedy. The actor, who played Yakshasan in the first part of the Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer, will reprise his role in the second part.
