New Delhi, Sep 18 (PTI) Delhi Mayor Pravesh Wahi on Friday inaugurated a 13-bed neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and several new medical facilities at Mata Gujri Hospital in Tilak Nagar, west Delhi.
The hospital has a dedicated ward for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and MCD employees, along with new equipment for ophthalmology and orthopaedic procedures. The NICU will provide intensive care and monitoring to critically ill newborns at the hospital itself, while the newly installed equipment includes a colour Doppler ultrasound machine, C-Arm machine for orthopaedic surgeries, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and a Phaco machine for eye-related procedures, an official statement read.
A CT scan machine would
also be installed at the hospital in the near future, Wahi said in the statement.
He said e-registration was now available at the hospital and bed sheets were being changed daily under a colour-coded system.
The hospital sees more than 1,600 patients in its outpatient department every day, according to the MCD.
The mayor said strengthening healthcare facilities at MCD hospitals was among the civic body’s priorities and efforts were being made to make modern healthcare services more accessible to citizens.
He also said the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ had been launched under the guidance of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Standing Committee chairperson Satya Sharma said the use of modern technology in healthcare was the need of the hour and the new equipment would improve the hospital’s functioning and patient care. PTI VBH SMV KSI KSI
