Fans who loved the bond between Eleven and Jim Hopper in Stranger Things are in for a treat. Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are all set to share screen space again in a brand-new Netflix series.
Netflix has announced an untitled spy thriller starring the two actors, who played adopted father and daughter in Stranger Things. The series is being written by Adolescence creator Jack Thorne, and both Millie and David will also executive produce the project.
The reunion comes just months after Stranger Things ended. Earlier this year, rumours had suggested that the two actors had fallen out while filming the show’s final season. However, their new collaboration has put those reports aside.
Speaking to Variety recently, David had also dismissed
the rumours, saying, “10 years wasn’t enough. There is a special bond there. I love her. She loves me.”
The upcoming series will be co-produced by A24. Millie’s husband Jake Bongiovi and her father Robert Brown are also on board as executive producers through her production company, PCMA Productions.
The project adds to Millie’s growing list of Netflix titles. She will next be seen in Enola Holmes 3, Just Picture It and Nineteen Steps. Enola Holmes 3, directed by Adolescence filmmaker Philip Barantini, is set to release on Netflix on July 1.
David, meanwhile, was recently seen in HBO’s DTF St Louis alongside Jason Bateman and Linda Cardellini, with his performance already earning awards buzz.
According to Netflix, David will play Matt Wolfe, a former FBI agent who left the spy world behind. He is forced back into action after his estranged daughter Rebecca, played by Millie, disappears during a mission. Rebecca has followed her father into the FBI, and the search to find her becomes the heart of the story.
