A woman has gone viral after ditching the traditional office leave request and creating a full-fledged Netflix-style trailer to convince her bosses to approve her Bali vacation.
The woman, identified as Talia, created the humorous video to ask her bosses, Frank and Jack, for permission to take a 10-day vacation to Bali. The clip quickly gained traction online and has now crossed more than 7.8 million views, with users calling it one of the most entertaining leave requests they have seen.
The now-viral video begins like a documentary teaser, with an interviewer questioning Talia about her unusual behaviour in recent days.
“Do you want to confess why you’ve been on so edge lately?” the interviewer asks dramatically.
Talia responds nervously, saying,
“I need to ask Frank and Jack a question.”
As the suspense builds, the interviewer continues, “Is that why you’re being so strange?”
Talia then admits, “I just can’t bring myself to do it. I can’t do it, I haven’t found the right time to do it.”
The trailer-style production intensifies further before the interviewer finally tells her, “Talia, the right time is now.”
After several pauses, she finally reveals the reason behind her anxiety: “I need 10 days of leave to go to Bali and have heaps of fun.”
The video ends on a cliffhanger-like note with the question: “So was it a yes or no?”
The clip also featured reactions from her bosses, Frank and Jack, who appeared amused and slightly nervous while watching the elaborate presentation unfold. Reacting to the unusual request, they told Talia, “You have been on edge lately.”
They also jokingly asked whether they were expected to reply in the same cinematic style.
“Do we have to send our response in a video format?” they asked.
Talia quickly clarified, “In a documentary trailer format.”
Social media users flooded the comments section soon after the video surfaced online, with many praising the employee’s creativity and workplace humour. Several users joked that the effort put into producing the trailer alone deserved immediate approval.
“It’s funny, because its funny. But confusing because in the UK you’d do this if asking for a 6 month sabbatical not a 2 week holiday 😭🤣” said one user.
“Damn I went 2 weeks in Japan and literally put in the leave and said nothing more than “yup I booked the flight” 💀” another user commented.

“America is so dystopian, that this is portrait as a fun thing. In other countries is “manadatory” to take at least 4weeks vacation off,” a third user said.
“God these just keep getting better and better 🤣 kinso “working remotely from Bali” content incoming,” another user wrote.
“For 10 days? I would do this for a 2 months leave 🤷🏻♂️😅” one comment read.
“I just wanna hang out in your office with y’all 😂” another user added.
