Carlos Sainz’s showing in the 2025 season of the Formula One championships saw his side Williams, finish fifth in the constructors’ table, marking a massive improvement for the side in his debut campaign
with the outfit.
Sainz registered a couple of podium finishes in the recently concluded season to help the manufacturer end the year with 137 points.
Sainz has a track record of lifting the standings of the team he races for as observed from his stint with Renault, who finished 9th in his debut season for the manufacturer in 2016, before the Spaniard helped them climb to 4th when he left in the year 2018.
Sainz moved to McLaren, who finished sixth in 2018, and lifted them to third in 2020 before his move to the iconic Ferrari, who were languishing in sixth, before helping the Prancing Horse climb to 2nd before his departure last year.
Max Verstappen made history in Formula One by winning his first World Championship in Abu Dhabi in 2021, a victory that remains contentious depending on one’s loyalties.
By 2025, Verstappen won the Yas Marina title in the season finale but saw his four-year reign as champion end. Lando Norris secured his maiden title for McLaren, finishing third in the race and edging out Verstappen by just a few points.
Verstappen’s tenacious effort to close a 102-point gap to Norris during the season showcased his determination, but it was the Brit who ultimately tasted success following a strong campaign. In stark contrast, Norris’ fellow Brit, Lewis Hamilton, experienced his first season without a podium finish during his debut with Ferrari.
Hamilton, a seven-time champion, faced a setback in his illustrious career after taking Carlos Sainz’s seat at Ferrari, only to witness Sainz lead Williams to a fifth-place finish in the championship.
