Jun 5 (PTI) A 16-year-old boy, who ventured into the Arabian Sea for a swim, drowned off Juhu Chowpatty beach in Mumbai’s western suburbs on Friday evening, officials said.
The incident occurred near a luxury hotel at 4.15 pm, they said.
After receiving an alert about the missing boy, personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, along with a 108 ambulance service team, rushed to the spot and launched a search operation with the help of lifeguards deployed at the beach.
The teenager, Sarfaraz Khan, was subsequently rescued from the sea and taken to the nearby civic-run Cooper Hospital, where doctors declared him “brought dead”, said the officials. PTI KK RSY
