Urmila Matondkar’s Upcoming Thriller

Beyond her stunning look, Urmila Matondkar made headlines for her return to the screen with her digital debut in the upcoming thriller Tiwari. The series which marks her comeback after a long hiatus, revolves around an intense mother-daughter relationship. The project, directed by Saurabh Varma and produced by Content Engineers, is expected to premiere in February 2026.

While earlier reports suggested production delays, producer Utpal Acharya clarified that the series was shot in Bhopal without any creative disagreements. “Tiwari was shot in a start-to-end schedule in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and media reports suggesting delay in the project are all untrue. There has been no creative differences or tiff with the director Saurabh Varma. The series is currently in the post-production stage and we are aiming to release it in February 2026,” he told Hindustan Times.

Urmila Matondkar’s Show Announcement

According to him, the format of the show had been slightly modified after the streaming platform requested the makers for the same. He explained, “We have almost finalised the OTT platform but I can’t reveal the name yet. The platform will make an announcement soon once things are ready at their end. Initially, we had kept 7 episodes of 50 minutes each but the platform has made them to 14 episodes of 25 minutes each.”

The show, besides Urmila, stars Gauahar Khan, Rajesh Sharma and JD Chakravarthy. It will feature Urmila as a woman named Kalki who is wrongfully imprisoned for a crime she didn’t commit. 14 years after she is released, she embarks on the journey seeking the truth.
