Actor Mrunal Thakur has opened up about her thoughts on marriage, saying that while tying the knot is certainly in her future, she remains focused on waiting for the right partner. Her remarks come shortly after she dismissed rumours linking her romantically with actor Dhanush, which had sparked widespread speculation online.
Mrunal Says She’ll Announce Wedding When Time Is Right
Speaking with PTI, Mrunal addressed curiosity around her personal life and acknowledged that marriage is something she envisions eventually. However, she stressed that she’s in no rush and intends to make the announcement herself when the time comes.
“Yes, wedding is on the cards and whenever the right day, the right time and the right person walks into my life, I will be the first one to announce it on my social networking
sites,” she said.
The actor also reflected on how perspectives on marriage have evolved over time, emphasising individual choice and emotional compatibility over external expectations.
“…Like, earlier, people might have had certain reasons to get married, but today, people marry because they want to, and they want to do it with the right person,” she added.
Her comments arrive days after speculation suggested she was preparing to wed Dhanush on Valentine’s Day — claims she had firmly denied in an earlier interview. Addressing the reports then, she said, “Me? No. I think 14th April is going to be the 1st April…14th Feb is going to be the 1st April. April Fools’ Day. Because I don’t know who started…First of all. I’ve been quoted, but I never said anything. And they just said, Mrunal said so. I was like, wow, how beautiful. It’s scary.”
Rumours about a possible relationship between Mrunal and Dhanush had circulated last year after she attended the wrap-up gathering for his film project. Speculation intensified when she was seen greeting and hugging him at the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2, though neither actor ever confirmed being involved romantically.
On the professional front, Mrunal is gearing up for the release of Do Deewane Seher Main, a romantic drama co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi. Directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali alongside Zee Studios, the film explores an unconventional love story between its central characters and is slated for theatrical release on February 20.
