In a shocking incident, a woman’s ashes reportedly went missing from a crematorium locker in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan, prompting the family to lodge a police complaint.
According to the complaint, Kamal Pal’s mother, an 85-year-old resident of Ward Number 5, passed away on December 16. Her last rites were performed the same day at the Chambaghat crematorium. After the cremation, her ashes were placed in locker number two, which the family had the key to.
When the family visited the crematorium on Thursday morning to collect the ashes for immersion in Haridwar, they discovered the locker open and the ashes missing. Fearing misuse of the remains, Kamal Pal later released a video appeal urging the public not to exploit his mother’s ashes.
