Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is one of the most talented young batters in international cricket, has credited Rohit Sharma for his development. Jaiswal made his Test and ODI debut for Team India under Rohit’s leadership and has also played 23 T20Is so far. The left-handed batter, who was not picked for the Indian team for the ongoing 2025 edition of the Asia Cup, recently made an appearance on Mashable India’s YouTube channel and, during the conversation with the host, said that he really enjoys being with Rohit, who has taught him so much and helped a lot in his development.
“I really enjoy being with Rohit bhai. He has taught me so much and helped me a lot in developing myself, both mentally and overall. He is truly an amazing human being. When you
are around him or talk to him, you learn a lot — in fact, just by watching him, you can learn so much,” Jaiswal said.

Jaiswal, who last played a competitive match for Team India at The Oval from July 31 to August 4 against England and scored a century in the second innings, will next be seen in action against the West Indies.
The Indian team is set to face the West Indies team in a two-match Test series. The series opener is scheduled to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from October 2 to 6, and Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium will host the second red-ball match from October 10 to 14.
The BCCI selectors are yet to announce the squad for the home series, but it is almost certain that Jaiswal will be picked for the home series. Jaiswal made his Test debut for India against the West Indies in July 2023 and scored 171 runs in the first innings of the first Test.
Jaiswal will also have a chance to share a dressing room with Rohit Sharma if both of them are picked up for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Team India is set to travel to Australia next month to take part in a three-match ODI and five-match T20I series. The ODIs are set to take place in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney on October 19, 23 and 25, respectively.
