A corporate food allowance is given to employees for their own meals. But an individual who works in one of the Big Four used the benefit in a rather unusual way that has the internet applauding him for his generous gesture and kindness towards other people. But some also wondered if it was a questionable use of a corporate benefit.
In a post shared on X, Dr Nilesh Nolkha said he had met a consultant or employee working at one of the Big Four firms who allegedly received a food allowance of Rs 7,000 per day. But he does not spend the money on himself and uses it to order large pizzas for the security guards in his society.
“He’s Turning Corporate Food Allowance Into Society Welfare Scheme” “Met a consultant/employee at one of the Big Four firms
who gets a ₹7,000-per-day food allowance,” the doctor wrote in the post. “He’s apparently quite famous in his society for ordering huge pizzas using the allowance—not for himself, but for the security guards!”

Internet Is Divided Over The Use Of The Food Allowance
The post quickly gained attention online, with social media users sharing mixed reactions. While some praised the employee for extending the benefit to those around him, others questioned whether a corporate food allowance could or should be used in this manner.
“That’s actually a noble thing to do .. give to the less fortunate ones than the ones who can actually buy (like his peers for instance),” said a user while praising the employee.
Another wrote, “Blessed are such people who think beyond themselves. You are one of them doc!”
An individual remarked, “If he is feeding the lesser fortunate, then it is money well spent.”
Meanwhile, someone shared that the employee should give healthy food instead of junk, writing, “While it’s good, it will be great, he actually orders wholesome food with the same money – while occasional pizza is great but not in the long run.”

He is turning corporate food allowance…

A person said that the claims were fake, writing, “I worked with one big 4, no they don’t pay such a huge food allowance. Food allowances are limited to the government. And are part of the salary. Though for client facing roles to get a corporate credit card and it is very well audited for each spend.”
“This is absolutely false. No big 4 has ₹7k food allowance (legally). He’s either exploiting a loophole, like using team allowance or this is completely BS,” mentioned someone else.
