Mumbai, Aug 11 (PTI) Four people, including two women and a child, were rescued after a fire broke out on the 11th floor of a 12-storey residential building in Mumbai’s Vile Parle (West) area on Tuesday night, civic officials said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze at Shanta Bhavan building in the western suburbs which was detected at around 10 pm, they said.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade declared it Level 1 (minor) fire at 10.08 pm and escalated it to Level 2 (moderate) at 10.16 pm, the officials said, adding the cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
According to the Fire Brigade, four people — two women, a man and a child — were rescued from the blaze-hit 11th floor of the building and shifted to Nanavati Hospital in an ambulance for medical
examination.
Personnel from the Fire Brigade, police, the electricity distribution company serving the area, 108 ambulance service and BMC ward staff were mobilised to the spot to put out the flames.
The fire was brought under control and cooling operations were in progress till late in the night, the officials added. PTI KK RSY
