Jaipur, May 7 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Thursday visited a village in the Pratapgarh district and interacted with residents as part of his outreach programme.
During his visit in the morning, Sharma met villagers, including elderly residents and enquired about their health, pension benefits and the senior citizens pilgrimage scheme, a spokesperson said.
Several children showed the chief minister their homework and spoke to him about their studies. Sharma also interacted with women and urged them to join Rajeevika self-help groups in larger numbers.
He also gathered feedback on the implementation of welfare schemes and the availability of basic amenities, and directed officials to address the issues raised by residents.
Sharma said holistic development of the state and the country is not possible without the development of villages.
“Unless people are approached directly in villages and spoken to, their problems cannot be fully understood,” he said.
Accompanied by his wife, the chief minister also offered prayers and performed ‘jalabhishek’ at the Gangeshwar Mahadev temple. He also visited the Lakshminath temple and the Charbhujanath temple. PTI SDA SMV SMV MNK MNK
