Prabhas returns as Bhairava in Kalki 2
On Prabhas’ birthday, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD released a special video celebrating the actor and offering fans a glimpse of his return as Bhairava in the film’s sequel. The clip captures the crew setting up a blue-screen stage for Bhairava’s comeback. As the words ‘Bhairava is back’
appear on screen, Prabhas walks onto the specially designed set in the armour associated with his character. He then gets into his futuristic vehicle, Bujji, before director Nag Ashwin calls ‘action’, signalling the start of the shoot. The clip keeps Prabhas’ look under wraps, offering only a silhouette of the actor standing atop an elevated structure.
Along with the video, they wrote, “To the superhero of Indian Cinema… Happy Birthday to the Darling of every generation, Rebel Star #Prabhas. We are excited to embark on another epic cinematic journey with you… #Kalki2898AD.” Have a look:

Soon after the makers shared the video, Prabhas fans were over the moon. One fan wrote, “INDIA’S BIGGEST SUPERSTAR, SUPERHERO OF INDIAN CINEMA.” Another fan commented, “Most awaited movie of the decade. Can’t wait.” Others were seen dropping fire emojis.
Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan have also reportedly resumed filming for the Kalki 2898 AD sequel. Deepika Padukone, who appeared as SUM-80, also known as Sumathi, is no longer part of the project. Although Sai Pallavi and Alia Bhatt were linked to the sequel amid speculation about Deepika’s replacement and potential new roles, director Nag Ashwin revealed in September that no new characters were being introduced. He did not disclose how the makers plan to address Deepika’s exit.
