Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra OTT Release: When And Where To Watch Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Film

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has emerged as the top-grossing Malayalam film of 2025. Released in theatres on August 28, 2025, the ambitious superhero film quickly became a hit, thanks to positive word of mouth. Written and directed by Dominic Arun, the film has delivered impressive box office numbers and is now set to make its OTT debut soon.

The film will be available for streaming on JioHotstar, but the date is yet to be revealed. The creators shared a poster and wrote, “The beginning of a new universe. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra — coming soon on JioHotstar.”

Produced by Dulquer Salmaan, Lokah Chapter 1 also stars Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Chandu Salim Kumar. Unlike many recent releases, the film did not rush to OTT within a month of

its theatrical debut. Earlier, Dulquer had emphasised that the film would not be hurried for streaming, giving audiences ample time to enjoy it in theatres.

Lokah Chapter 1 Breaks Records

According to Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 155.84 crore in India and Rs 302.11 crore globally. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Dulquer Salmaan admitted that the success had exceeded expectations. “I was seeing responses from everywhere. It’s proof that audiences today are open to different languages and fresh storytelling. People watched it on day one, reviewed it, made reels – it was surreal,” he said.

Directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his Wayfarer Films banner, the movie stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, alongside Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian and Chandu Salim Kumar.
