Delhi is likely to continue witnessing intermittent rain over the next seven days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The city will witness generally cloudy skies next week.
According to the latest IMD forecast, maximum temperatures in Delhi are expected to remain between 32°C and 35°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to range from 22°C to 26°C between August 9 and 15.
Wet Spell In Delhi
The national capital has experienced a particularly wet spell over the past few days. Delhi recorded 98.7 mm of rainfall at Safdarjung in the 24 hours ending 8:30 am, making Saturday the city’s wettest August day in two years. The rainfall also pushed the capital’s August total past the month’s normal average within the first eight days.
On August 10, the maximum temperature is expected to remain between 33°C and 35°C, with light to moderate rain likely at several places. Another spell of rain is expected from afternoon to evening, with moderate rainfall possible at isolated locations.
On August 11, temperatures are likely to remain between 32°C and 34°C, with light to moderate rain expected at several places. Rain may also occur during the evening or night.
The weather is likely to remain generally cloudy on August 12 and 13, with isolated spells of very light rain. On August 14, light rain is expected at a few places during the morning, followed by another spell from afternoon to evening.
The possibility of rain is expected to increase on August 15, when multiple spells of light rain are forecast during the morning and again from afternoon to evening.
Overall, Delhi is likely to remain cloudy and relatively cooler than during hotter periods, with intermittent rain continuing through the week.
