Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 is preparing for one of its most celebrated episodes yet, featuring members of the Indian women’s cricket team after their historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup triumph.
While several teammates shot withAmitabh Bachchan, Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana was notably missing from the special shoot.
Mandhana was scheduled to join her teammates for the Wednesday evening recording, but she opted out due to personal matters stemming from her recently postponed wedding to music composer Palaash Muchhal.

On November 26, several teammates, some of whom had attended Smriti’s pre-wedding functions, shot the special KBC 17 episode dedicated to India’s maiden Women’s World Cup victory. Viral videos showed the players arriving on set, heightening anticipation for the star-studded episode.
Head coach Amol Mujumdar and players Sneh Rana, Harleen Deol, Shefali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh and Harmanpreet Kaur were seen posing for the paparazzi. Smriti, who was initially part of the guest list, chose to skip the shoot this time.
Smriti Mandhana And Palaash Muchhal Wedding
The duo was set to tie the knot on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra. The celebrations, which had already included haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremonies, were halted after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a sudden health emergency and was hospitalised. Following this, the couple announced that they have decided to postpone the wedding.
Palaash Muchhal’s mother, Amita Muchhal, revealed that it was Palaash, not Smriti, who decided to postpone their wedding after Smriti’s father fell seriously ill. Deeply attached to him, Palaash refused to go ahead with the rituals despite the haldi being completed. The emotional stress took a toll, leaving Palaash hospitalised for four hours under observation.
Palaash Muchhal Cheated On Smriti Mandana?
A few days later, the cricketer removed all pre-wedding pictures from her social media, sparking speculation. While many tried to wrap their minds around this shocking move, some unverified chats circulating online alleged that Palaash was cheating on Smriti with another woman, said to be a choreographer at their wedding.
However, neither Smriti nor Palaash nor their families have made any public statements regarding these allegations or their future wedding plans. As fans await clarity, Smriti continues to maintain distance from public appearances.
