Shimla, May 31 (PTI) Upma Dada Chawdhry, a 1983 batch IAS officer of Himachal cadre, has been appointed as chairperson of the Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSE).
Chawdhry, who was the Public Interest Director at MSE, has become the first woman Chairperson, a statement issued here on Sunday said.
With over 35 years experience as a top bureaucrat, Upma was also the first woman Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie and retired from the senior most administrative post of Secretary to Government of India in December 2020.
She has represented India at various bilateral, multilateral and international forums, including Codex Alimentarius, WTO, OIE and dealt with several UN organisations such as UNICEF,
UNESCO, UNV, WHO and others.
Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India is a national-level stock exchange, recognised by the Securities and Exchange Board of India. PTI BPL MR
