With the SSLC examinations approaching, concerns have surfaced over the alleged circulation of question papers on social media platforms, particularly Instagram. Reports suggest that SSLC question papers are
being offered for as little as Rs 30, raising serious questions about the security of the examination system and the impact on students’ futures.
According to the reports, the question papers are being shared through promotional videos on Instagram. Miscreants are said to have created a fraudulent network, luring students with claims of providing genuine question papers in exchange for money. Similar allegations have also emerged regarding PU examination question papers, prompting questions about the role and response of the education department.
The alleged leak has sparked public anger, with many questioning why action has not been taken against those circulating the content through direct messages and open social media posts. It is claimed that one of the question papers was shared at around 8.15 am, even before the start of a preparatory examination, undermining the very purpose of such tests conducted by the education department.
Parents have expressed concern that students who have worked hard throughout the year are being unfairly affected. Many are asking whether the education department has failed to curb such practices and what value preparatory exams hold if question papers are circulated in advance.
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has issued a clarification, stating that a complaint has been lodged with the cyber police. According to the board, five question papers have not been leaked, though there is a possibility that two question papers may have been circulated. Officials said efforts are underway to identify those responsible.
An FIR has been registered at the cyber crime police station in the north division. The complaint states that some individuals are spreading fake information on social media to make money. The FIR also calls for tracing the person who uploaded copies of the question papers online.
How Does This Impact Students Future?
The alleged leak has caused confusion and anxiety among students, with many desperately seeking access to the preparatory question papers. Educators and parents have warned that relying on leaked material could harm students’ preparation for the main examinations. There are also concerns that the incident may affect overall results this year, with reports suggesting that the leaks may have been used to gain social media followers.
